Advanced Elder Training

Transform Your Church By Building A Healthy Culture
As an elder, you’re entrusted with the doctrine, discipline, and direction of your church. Your training likely equipped you with deep theological knowledge and perhaps some insight into church discipline. But when it comes to leading your church in the right direction, many elders feel underprepared—and they’re not alone.

Did you know?

A staggering 50% of pastors report that their theological education didn’t adequately prepare them for the practical challenges of ministry leadership.

Imagine a Fortune 500 company assigning untrained leaders to steer a critical project. The results could be disastrous. The same risk applies to your church.

The Stakes Are High. Without the right training, your church could drift—stagnating, losing focus, or even facing closure. But it doesn’t have to be this way. With the right tools, you can lead your church to thrive, fulfilling the vision God has placed on your heart.

Our Goal: Build a Healthy Foundation with the Right DNA

We equip elders to create a vibrant, God-honoring church culture that moves in the right direction. A healthy culture isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s the bedrock of a thriving church.

As Peter Drucker famously said, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.”

Jesus put it even more vividly: “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit” (Luke 6:43-44, ESV).

Without a healthy culture:

  • A do-nothing culture leads to stagnation, no matter how great your plan.
  • A toxic culture breeds division and distrust.
  • A past-focused culture keeps your church stuck, unable to embrace God’s future.
But with the right culture, your church can flourish—aligned with God’s purpose, united in vision, and empowered to act.

What You’ll Gain: Key Ministry Outcomes

  2. Instill habits in your congregation that sustain forward momentum.

Frequently Asked Questions

We will meet on a regular basis determined by you.

During our time together we will introduce the four aspects of a healthy church DNA and leave a lot of time to discuss and consider.

There are 10 training sessions.

  • Seven will cover the decision-making, habits, roadmap, and leadership model.
  • Two will focus on implementing these four aspects into your culture.
  • One will focus on intergrating these aspects into a unified whole.

Each session will be 60-75 minutes.  Each has an objective to acheive and key ministry results to expect.

There will be assignments for you to complete throughout our time together. Some will require self-reflection, others will require action. Failure to complete the assignments will jeopardize your ability to create a healthy culture.

Short answer: Minimal.

Our emphasis is creating a new mindset and habits while you are ministering to your congregation.

  • For instance, there are decisions you will have to make as an elder. The question is, “How will you make them?”
  • Your congregation has habits, but are the the right ones?
  • Your church is moving in a direction, but is it moving the direction in accordance with the Scriptures?
  • You have a leadership model, but is it the one that deeply supports people as you appropriately challenge them?

As you work through the training and assignments, you will notice light bulbs going off in your head and will know when to apply the “aha” moment.

We took the following five factors into consideration:

  1. Your energy: The cost of having the church drain you because you are not quite sure how to handle certain situations.
  2. Your time: The cost of not knowing how to fix the problem, but trying multiple times.
  3. Your church’s identity: The cost of not being known in your community as you would like it to be.
  4. Your health: The physical toll of trying to figure it out on your own will impact your health and your relationships.
  5. Your church’s finances: The cost of you trying to develop the skill on your own can stunt the numerical and financial growth of the church.

Our pricing is based on your church’s situation: its’ season, obstacles, size, scope, commitment, and personnel. Once we get a clear idea of these factors we will draft a custom timeline and price.

Group pricing is available. This is ideal for presbyteries, networks, and associations.
