Meet David Zook

REV. DAVID ZOOK
Executive Director (Phoenix-based)
David Zook serves as Executive Director of The GO Center, equipping pastors and churches with practical processes and tools for revitalization, church planting, advanced pastor training, and pastoral search. His passion is helping leaders and congregations turn outward—moving from inward focus to bold, effective Great Commission impact in their communities.
For 14 years, David served as lead or co-lead pastor in two Phoenix-area urban churches. Under his leadership, up to 90% of the people grew significantly closer to Jesus, and one congregation grew 50% in just two years. He helped transform inward-facing congregations into outward-focused ones, increased their ministry capacity so they could minister to more people in better ways, and helped people gain boldness in sharing and defending their faith.
David developed strategic outreach initiatives that connected the church to the broader city, including public schools, the working poor, city and state government, church networks, and Fortune 500 companies. He also helped organize city-wide efforts that attracted anywhere from 3,000 to over 100,000 people and he played a key role in launching or reviving initiatives such as City Serve, School Connect, and Pinnacle Forum.
He led or assisted four church plants—three of which are thriving today. The oldest is now over 20 years old, and the youngest is over 10. The one that did not launch became one of the most instructive seasons of his ministry, reinforcing the importance of clear vision, healthy leadership, and Spirit-led strategy.
Before entering full-time ministry, David built a successful career in corporate America. He represented one of the nation’s most respected insurance companies as a National Marketing Director and later became the top recruiter at a search firm as an Executive Recruiter. These experiences sharpened his skills in leadership development, strategic execution, and connecting the right people with the right opportunities—skills he now brings to pastoral search and church leadership training.
David holds a B.S. in International Economics from Texas Tech University and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
David and his wife Tiffany (who owns a pediatric medical practice) have two sons—one playing professional soccer overseas and the other an entrepreneur who launched his first business at age 20. They also served as foster parents, an experience that deepened their commitment to caring for those in need.
What drives David is seeing churches and leaders experience renewed effectiveness in reaching the lost and making disciples. Drawing from both ministry successes and hard lessons, he brings a grounded, hopeful, and highly practical approach to helping pastors and congregations answer the question, “What’s next?”
